A figure of tradition,
in midst of a transition.
The family is politically hot,
of right and left a plot,
Within the real fathers alive,
with all effort and drive,
to give their tribute to family,
which is a matter of individuality,
as role model questioned, criticized,
partially freed but ill advised,
so many ideas of what a father is not,
still a clear picture of duties he got,
but what he is allowed to do,
there is no common sense of ‘true’,
A punching bag of social evolution,
might feel as feminist retribution,
but I think it is yet to be defined,
and hopefully will never be aligned,
as I think the demand of equality,
is a high matter of individuality,
the father is freed to be a person,
with remains of old fashion sticking on,
he is allowed to have emotion and insecurity,
he is not perfect, but loveable in his capability.
I love my father, simply as him,
differences, commons, typical kin,
no glorious superhero,
as a father he loves me true,
and love and affection are what is valuable,
and besides old tellings fathers are able,
to feel, but not always to talk it through,
a father’s love is more mysterious but true,
I celebrate the person and not the role,
as being perfect was never his goal,
loving us was his true desire,
and I wish this fact to admire!
Happy father’s day! Be individual, do not let role models pressure you! Love made you fathers, love is what should grow further from there! This is what, in my world, a father’s true responsibility is.
