Tungstenturtle Poetry

A silver metal, shiny and ductile,
soft and a low melting temperature,
it shows an intermediate nature,
between Gallium and Thallium lies its style.

In contrary to most metals Indium can wet glass,
and like tin it has a spooky cry if it is bent,
what you hear is the breaking of a twinned fragment,
therefore using it as pure metal is a hard pass.

Indium became very popular,
in the last four decades due to one reason,
Indium has with Tin and Oxygen a special liaison.
as team, they became a superstar.

Indium Tin Oxide is a transparent conductor,
which was considered almost impossible,
as conductors like metals are very visible,
it is due to their grid and electron structure.

Combined with the glass wetting ability,
a technological breakthrough was given,
and humanity was into the smart phone age driven,
for this technology Indium was the missing key.

Discovered at the university of Freiberg,
Reich and Richter two German chemists,
very skilled ore analysts
through its blue spectral line identified,

The indigo blue line gave the element its name,
but it was a by-product for many years,
mostly in Spheralite, a tin ore, it appears,
with LED, LCD and flat screens it gained fame.

It is on your mobile phone, or any other screen,
it is part of your everday,
an electrochemical exception they say,
mandatory for every nerd and teen.

A rising star, a former waste material
still very difficult to recycle and reuse,
the Japanese try to find a method to use,
is now important and essential.

Indium shows us to expect the unexpected
to not waste things,
who knows what the future brings,
question the existing to discover the undetected.
