A colour spectacle of material,
glowing wonderful and aetherial.
Revealing chemical composition,
through light emission.

Fluorescence is a temporary effect,
so to say a show act.
The molecules absorb a photon,
energetic excitement is shown.

To relax in the low energy state,
a part of the energy has to separate.
Fluorescence means light is emitted,
the rest of the energy is splitted.

Usually in molecular vibration,
a dance performance variation.
The colours differ through a simple rule,
between excited and chilled cool,

there is a specific amount of energy,
so every molecule sets it differently free,
this results in a difference in the colouring,
it can be used to identify the origin.

In the so called X-ray fluourescence,
is much more energy than UV disco lamps.
The excitement is much higher,
the molecules imediate relaxation desire.

A fingerprint of energy can be detected,
the compositon not further neglected.
Helmholtz and Evans explained it properly,
with Kasha’s rule and the diagram of Jablonski,

Flourescence can be understood,
which is absolutely good.
But the most important thing is the glow,
Fluorescence is the natures disco show.
