As near as old as humankind,
is the skill, to use a thread,
to combine and to bind,
which soon to clothing led.
I did it, besides fixing a button,
sewing for the first time,
a piece of coloured cotton,
weaving the thread line by line.
A haptic experience,
with a very nice teacher,
she brought in some sense,
explaining some basic feature.
Starting with an idea,
figured out a plan,
from cloth flat as a tortilla,
I rapidly became a fan.
Step by step the piece grew,
with no clue how it will end,
I drew, cut and I sew,
ironing and working with my hand.
Sewing machines are great,
speeding things up,
helping you create,
an accelerator somewhat.
In four hours time,
a toilet bag was created,
and in the end it was mine,
I made it, fully dedicated.
It felt great to do something new,
something I had not tried before,
and now, there is so much to sew,
it lit a fire in my core.
I wish to share this spark,
to fire up enthusiasm,
that you as well can embark,
withstand every sarcasm.
Enjoy if you fail,
inhale every success,
there are new waters to sail,
new talents to posess.
Try whatever you wish for,
no limits set,
just open a new door,
and look where you get.
