Radium is the heaviest earth alkali,
and of high natural rarity.
It can be found in Uranium ore,
or acompanied with Phosphor.

Less nobel but similar to Barium,
the unstable radioactive Radium.
Discovered from Marie Curie,
from a ton of ore, set free.

Itsotopes are twenty seven known,
with various lifetimes shown.
Twohundret twenty six,
is the most stable in half-time ticks.

It was discovered from flame colouring,
a beautiful deep red carmesine.
The name recognizes its ability,
to set energy as rays free.

Its most famous application,
found in self luminscent paint appreciation.
On the clock a green glow in the night,
a brilliant and fascinating light.

Due to health and safety,
alternatives, radioactivity free,
have been searched and found,
and Radium was from paint duty unbound.

Radium had its epoch between World War One and Two,
until then, people did not knew,
of the side effects of radioacitivy,
even with some „radiation“ absurdity,

in water, activating Spa’s, even razor blades,
such a superstar for two decades,
in modern times it is used in special analytics,
using brilliant ideas and tricks.

There it can be used save and sound,
its power controlled and bound.
Radium was a teacher for being careful,
and not using everything unreflected and dull.
