without constant production.
Artificially created from human kind,
this time, it had harm in mind.

Originally found in nuclear test sites,
as preparation for the world war fights.
It was there, high energy, full of power,
for humanity the darkest hour.

Yet it is part of nuclear power plant waste,
difficult, but with a futuristic taste.
Americium could serve as a power source,
compared to Uranium, it is a power horse.

Very small critical masses are required,
which would be very highly desired.
In radio nuclid batteries for space application,
or in most US smoke sensors with alpha radiation.

It could serve as spaceship fuel
a future hopefully less cruel.
So Americium is a silvery metal, radioactive,
full of power and even in grams reactive.

Born from hate and warfare,
it possibly has a bright future to share.
To let us descend from our cruel behaviour,
a very basic motivation in human nature.

Let us use energy for the good,
Love succeeds over war, as far I have understood.
